Update – 10th may 2021
From the 17th may we are going to be able to let a few dog waking volunteers back. It will be limited but this is due to our site size and space. The way it will work will be:
We will be booking appointments for dog walking which will be limited to an hour per session so that we are able to make it as fair as we can and get as many people down to walk the dogs. This will be from Tuesday until Sunday 11 until two. We can have two groups down per hour and a maximum number of people per group at four. You will need to wait outside the door for a member of staff to come out and give you a dog to walk.
If you wish to dog walk for us you will need to book in by the Sunday before the week you want to volunteer (if that makes sense). This is so we know what is going on week by week as to organise other things such as viewings, vets etc. So from the 10th may we will be booking appointments for the week commencing the 17th and you will need to have booked in by the 16th for that week.
If anybody is showing and COVID symptoms or knows anybody that is then please let us know and we can cancel your appointment. We look forward to welcoming you back and we thank you for your understanding during these difficult times 🐾🐕😁
Please contact the kennels when booking a walking appointment. If you turn up to dog walk without an appointment you will unfortunately be turned away
WE ARE ABLE TO START REHOMING AGAIN. WE ARE APPOINTMENT ONLY IF YOU SEE A DOG OF INTEREST. WE DO NOT ALLOW PEOPLE TO LOOK AROUND OUR KENNELS AS THIS STRESSES THE DOGS OUT. PLEASE RING THE KENNELS IF YOU SEE A SPECIFIC DOG OF INTEREST 😁
OUR KENNELS ARE NOT OPEN TO THE PUBLIC ON MONDAYS
VOLUNTEERS AND DOG-WALKERS ARE STILL WELCOME! 🙂
Wellingborough Dog Welfare, or Wellidog as we are more fondly known is a local charity in Grendon, Northamptonshire, and we are dedicated to making life easier for strays and unwanted dogs locally from surrounding areas.
With so many abandoned and unwanted dogs entering kennels every day we are committed to finding loving homes for all of our dogs. We are a no-kill shelter who believe that second hand dogs make first class friends, and we work around the clock to raise funds to care for the dogs in our care while we search for their perfect forever home.
All of the money we raise goes directly to our charity, but we can only carry on the work we do with the help of people’s generosity. We are always grateful for any donations, so even if you can’t help financially there may be some other way to help, even if you only have spare time to lend a hand…
We do not claim expenses for our work, our payment is seeing the dogs in our care transferred to a forever home and becoming part of a family where they are loved.
We are closed on Mondays, but open to visitors from Tuesday to Sunday; 10:30 am to 3:00 pm. Pop in and see us!
